Ever wanted to eat a more plant-based diet, but just didn’t know where to start?
I feel you. When I first decided to go vegan over 10 years ago, I had no clue where to get started. I was lucky enough to have some friends who were already eating this way to guide me and give me some meal ideas to get started. Did I get it right straight away? Nope. I made lots of mistakes on my plant-based journey, but I learnt from them and was able to make further improvements to my diet along the way.
Fortunately, in this day and age, plant-based eating and veganism is a lot more mainstream than it was 10 years ago, and there is lots of great information available to those wanting to make the change. However, there is also a lot of misinformation that can be harmful.
This is one of the reasons I became a plant-based health coach - to provide guidance and evidence based information for those who wish to achieve better health and wellbeing on a plant-based diet.
However, I understand not everyone can afford 1-on-1 coaching, which is why I decided to write my book ‘Nourish with Plants’. This book was designed to be a simple guide to a whole-foods plant-based diet - the benefits of eating this way, what foods to buy, and how to plan and prepare your meals. I want to provide you with the right tools and knowledge to eat a healthy and abundant plant-based diet without deprivation or stress! Therefore, in this book you will not only find over 50 recipes, but also helpful tips and resources, a meal planner, and shopping list, so that you are best equipped to navigate the world of plant-based eating.
These days there are so many ‘diets’ that promote calorie restriction, time-restricted eating, eliminating carbohydrates, and ‘cleanses’. Let’s face it, everyone wanted results yesterday, so they will jump on any new diet or fad in the hopes of a ‘quick fix’ to their health and weight problems. Unfortunately, a short-term fix does not equate to long-term results and can often even be harmful.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and weight management. Whilst nutrition is an important part of the equation, you must address all areas of your life if you want to become the healthiest and happiest version of you. This is why I promote a sustainable ‘lifestyle’ that, in the long term, will provide you with a platform to reach your optimal health and weight. An essential part of that lifestyle is consuming a healthy plant-based diet, which is why I have created this guide.
I have designed this guide to be as user-friendly as possible, especially for those who are new to a plant-based diet and have little to no cooking experience. This is basically the recipe guide I wish I had when I first transitioned to a plant-based diet - simple and easy to make meals, that are healthy, delicious, and don’t require endless hours in the kitchen (because ain’t nobody got time for that!)
If you’re ready to finally make that transition to a plant-based diet (or maybe you’re already plant-based and want to fine tune your diet) I highly recommended checking out my new book here. Yours in health and wellness,
